Kids Summer Art Program
SUMMER SIZZLER 2008
Four weeks of summer fun starting July 14th!
Ages 10 and up
Hours: 9:30 – 2:30pm Monday through Friday
July 14-18– Storytelling through Pottery with Ike Wilson and Rema Keen
Students will make a series of tiles depicting scenes from their lives to use as props while telling their own story. The importance and art of storytelling will be explored.
July 21-25– Mixed Media Week with David Borden, Julie Davis and Suzanne Monroe
Metal sculpture, glass mosaics, weaving and more
July 28-August 1– Introduction to Lapidary with Wiley Gainus
Students will learn about the formation of rocks while using a variety of lapidary tools to cut and polish semi-precious stones.
August 4–8– Mixed Media Week with Jerry Pospisl, Jim Mellberg and Chris Baschon
Fused glass, wooden puzzles, mandalas, quilling and more
- Tuition is $75 per week plus materials fee which varies by week depending on the project(s).
- Students need to bring a lunch and a snack and will want to wear suitable clothing.
Please come by the office to register. Payment is required at the time of registration. Limited space is available in each class, so hurry and register soon!

Tryon Arts & Crafts is a partner in the Polk County Public Schools Builders Club program, offering arts enrichment for children. TAC will provide a week of arts and crafts projects featuring stained glass and painted floor cloths with elementary students at Polk Middle School the week of June 23rd.
