Introduction to Bead Stringing with Julie McIntyre
Saturday, January 30, 9-5pm
Please join us at Tryon Arts and Crafts for an Introduction to Bead Stringing weekend workshop with instructor Julie McIntyre. The one-day workshop will be held on Saturday, January 30th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students will learn basic bead stringing skills as they produce a unique, one-of-a-kind necklace and earring set. The necklace will be an 18" to 26" adjustable piece to suit any neckline!
Projects will be created from an assortment of colors and beads, include fire-polished Swarovski crystals, handmade lamp-worked beads and pendant beads. The workshop will cover different styles, methods, materials, tools, and supply sources as well as tips and solutions to basic stringing problems.
Instructor Julie McIntyre works out of her studio in the foothills of North Carolina. Julie was inspired by glass working she witnessed on a visit to the Italian island of Murano while studying architecture. However, it wasn't until 25 years later that she began working in hot glass. Making glass beads and finished jewelry provides her an immediate and unfettered outlet for her creative impulses.
Advance registration for all workshops is required. Tuition is $125 for members and $135 for non-members and the supply cost is $45. Please contact Tryon Arts & Crafts at (828) 859-8323. We have a limited number of spaces available for this class so register soon!
